The Dog Stars Lands in Theaters as Streaming Debates Continue
Ridley Scott's new sci-fi film, The Dog Stars, opened in theaters on Friday, August 28. Written by Mark L. Smith and based on Peter Heller's novel of the same name, this post-apocalyptic thriller follows a worldwide pandemic that nearly wipes out all of humankind.
The story centers around Hig, played by Jacob Elordi, an ex-pilot who embarks on a journey with his friend Bangley to find a better place to live. The film also stars Margaret Qualley, Josh Brolin, and Benedict Wong.
For now, the movie is only available in theaters. While it may be possible to purchase or rent The Dog Stars on Amazon Prime Video eventually, you won't be able to stream it for free with a subscription. Instead, it will likely become available on one of Disney's streaming platforms, such as Hulu or Disney+.
