The Home Depot Beats Q2 Expectations, Reaffirms 2026 Outlook
The Home Depot (NYSE: HD) released its second-quarter fiscal 2026 results, exceeding expectations and reaffirming its 2026 outlook. The company reported $47.9 billion in sales for the quarter, a 5.7% increase from the same period last year. Comparable sales grew 1.7%, with U.S. comparable sales increasing by 1.3%. Net earnings were $4.8 billion, or $4.79 per diluted share, compared to $4.6 billion and $4.58 per diluted share in the previous quarter.
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Richard McPhail stated that 'our second quarter results exceeded our expectations.' Senior Executive Vice President Ann-Marie Campbell added that the company's teams did an exceptional job executing throughout a dynamic environment.
The Home Depot reaffirmed its fiscal 2026 guidance, which includes total sales growth of approximately 2.5% to 4.5%, comparable sales growth of flat to 2.0%, and gross margin of around 33.1%. The company operates 2,364 retail stores and over 1,340 SRS locations across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
