Thomasville National Bank has invested $93.34 million in Amazon.com (NASDAQ: AMZN) by purchasing 391,613 shares of its stock in the second quarter.

This investment accounts for about 5.1% of Thomasville National Bank's portfolio and makes it the bank's second-largest position.

Other large investors have also increased their stakes in Amazon.com recently, including Sterling Investment Counsel LLC, Farmers & Merchants Investments Inc., Hixon Zuercher LLC, Venturi Wealth Management LLC, and Moody Lynn Lieberson & Walker LLC.

Institutional investors and hedge funds own 72.20% of the company's stock.

Amazon.com reported $5.75 EPS for its latest quarter, beating analysts' estimates by $3.93.
