Three Men Arrested After Police Seize Firearms, Ammunition, and Contraband in Nassau County Parking Lot
Police in Nassau County seized a large quantity of firearms and ammunition from a parking lot at Home Depot on Jericho Turnpike. The incident occurred on Friday, when officers observed three men unloading a crate containing rifles into their vehicles.
A routine patrol spotted the men transferring multiple rifles into their cars, leading to an investigation that resulted in the arrest of all three suspects. Authorities discovered thousands of rounds of ammunition, three machetes, knives, and suspected cocaine among other items in the parking lot.
Following the discovery, police arrested Gilberto Rivera Lopez, Rudi W. Rivera Lopez, and Manuel Gutierrez Pineda for various charges including failure to safely store firearms, criminal possession of a controlled substance, loitering, and criminal possession of a weapon. Two of the suspects, Gilberto and Rudi Rivera Lopez, were later turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement after being found to have entered the country illegally.
