Three Stocks That Have Already Made Millionaires, and History Says There's More to Come
Three stocks have stood out as consistent performers over the past decade, growing their value by staggering amounts. At the top of this list is Apple (AAPL), which has seen its stock price increase by more than 1,100% over the past ten years. Microsoft (MSFT) comes in second, with a growth rate of around 760%. Visa (V) rounds out the trio, with its shares returning over 350% over the same period.
These companies have all demonstrated the characteristics that are common among millionaire-maker stocks. They have durable moats, decades of compounding revenue and earnings, expanding margins, aggressive shareholder returns through buybacks and dividends, and a credible engine to power their growth in the next decade.
The forward engines driving these companies' future growth are equally impressive. Apple is reimagining its Siri AI platform, which will be layered on top of its massive installed base. Microsoft owns enterprise AI infrastructure and is monetizing it faster than any peer, with Azure revenue surpassing $100 billion for the first time. Visa is building the rails for agentic commerce, partnering with OpenAI to create secure agent-initiated payments.
However, there are risks associated with each of these companies. For Apple, supply constraints and regulatory pressure on its services business could impact growth. Microsoft's heavy capex spending in AI infrastructure could become a drag if demand softens. Visa is vulnerable to local payment schemes, regulators pushing account-to-account rails, and stablecoin disintermediation.
