President Bola Ahmed Tinubu welcomed a proposed $1 billion investment in Nigeria by the Coca-Cola System, calling it a vote of confidence in the country's economy and long-term prospects.

Tinubu spoke at the 75th anniversary event of the Nigerian Bottling Company Limited (NBC), saying his administration is working to make the business environment more predictable, competitive, and supportive of investment.

The President emphasized that Nigeria should not be regarded as just a large market for international companies, but rather as a country where businesses can establish operations, develop local talent, and supply chains, and compete in African and global markets.

Tinubu highlighted the importance of human capital development, saying investment ultimately derives its value from the opportunities it creates for people. He commended NBC's Supply Chain Academy, which has trained over 1,400 young people, as well as the company's empowerment programs for women and interventions in communities.
