Tinubu Welcomes Coca-Cola's $1 Billion Investment in Nigeria
Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu welcomed Coca-Cola's proposed $1 billion investment in Nigeria, assuring investors that the country remains open for business.
Tinubu made the announcement at the 75th anniversary celebration of the Nigerian Bottling Company Limited (NBC) in Abuja. He was represented by Secretary to the Government of the Federation Senator George Akume.
The President emphasized the importance of reliable power and infrastructure, clear regulations, efficient ports and logistics, access to foreign exchange, and a tax system that encourages productive enterprise for investment decisions.
Tinubu welcomed Coca-Cola's announcement in 2024 of a potential $1 billion investment in Nigeria over five years, describing it as a vote of confidence in the Nigerian economy. He emphasized that his administration is interested not only in the volume of capital invested but also in its impact on employment, skills development, local sourcing, technology transfer, and domestic productive capacity.
