Tobacco Enforcement Operation at Coca-Cola Games Nets 19 Offenders
A joint operation by the Ministry of Health and Fiji Police Force resulted in 19 people being booked for tobacco-related offences during the three-day Coca-Cola Games.
The enforcement effort targeted public smoking and the sale of loose cigarette rolls, also known as 'tibi', especially at high-traffic events.
A total of eleven individuals were charged with smoking in public places, while eight others faced charges for selling tobacco products in small quantities under the Tobacco Control Act.
