Tokyo Disneyland Unveils Sugar Rush & Space Mountain Revamp Plans for Tomorrowland

Tokyo Disneyland has announced two major attractions for its Tomorrowland area, set to open in 2027 as part of a ¥100 billion reimagining. The first attraction, Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue, is themed around Walt Disney Animation Studios' film Wreck-It Ralph and will offer an interactive gaming experience. Guests will enter the world of video games within the attraction, teaming up with film characters to save the candy-filled world from being destroyed by Sugar Bugs - glitches created by King Candy.

The attraction, set to open in spring 2027, introduces new technology for a first-of-its-kind interactive experience at a Disney theme park. Located next to Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue is the Pixel Prism shop, which will offer merchandise inspired by the attraction. A new popcorn stand called Popping Station will also be situated near the attraction.

The second attraction, Space Mountain Earthrise, is an all-new indoor roller coaster that takes guests on a journey through outer space. The ride vehicles will feature onboard audio systems and special light and sound effects inspired by various space phenomena. The exterior of the attraction incorporates curved features designed after celestial bodies and natural forms.
