Tomorrowland Gets a Fresh Coat: Disneyland Revamps Its Iconic Land

Disneyland is revamping Tomorrowland as part of its fourth major overhaul in the land's 71-year history. The new design will stay true to Walt Disney's original vision for a future-oriented and optimistic space.

Imagineering, Disney's design and engineering arm, has been working on the project since the D23 fan expo in Anaheim, where they showcased their plans for Tomorrowland 4.0. According to Emo O'Brien, Imagineering Executive Creative Producer, 'We really looked back to Walt's opening day speech that he gave and we were inspired by his vision of Tomorrowland being a vista into wondrous worlds.'

The new design will incorporate Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, and Marvel intellectual properties, as well as utilize existing rides at other Disney parks for inspiration. The land's theme will shift from futuristic to sci-fi.
