Tony Phillips Avoids These 5 Popular Apps on His Windows PC
Writer Tony Phillips is selective about what he installs on his Windows PC. He has deliberately avoided installing some popular apps, including Google Chrome, Adobe Acrobat Reader, WhatsApp, VLC, and Microsoft Teams.
The reason for avoiding these apps, according to Phillips, is that they don't offer enough benefits to justify the space they take up on his computer. For example, he prefers using Edge as his browser because it drains his laptop's battery more slowly than Chrome and has tighter integration with Windows.
Phillips also notes that Edge can handle most of the tasks he needs to perform with PDFs, such as opening, searching, filling out forms, highlighting and annotating text, adding text boxes, and signing documents. He sees no need for a separate app like Adobe Acrobat Reader.
In addition to these apps, Phillips has also uninstalled Microsoft Teams from his old PC due to resource usage concerns.
