Top Wall Street Banks Gear Up for Q2 Earnings Amid Strong Consumer Spending
The upcoming Q2 earnings of top Wall Street banks are being closely watched by investors and analysts. Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, Wells Fargo, and Goldman Sachs will report their quarterly earnings on July 14.
U.S. consumer spending in June showed its strongest growth since April 2022, with aggregate credit and debit card spending per household at Bank of America increasing by 6.3% year-over-year. The State Street SPDR S&P Bank ETF (KBE) is trading near a record high and has gained about 12% in 2026.
However, not all banks are performing equally well. Wells Fargo is down 8% year-to-date, while Citi has jumped 17%. Bank of America and JPMorgan are up 6% and 3%, respectively.
