'Toy Story 5' Fueled Disney's Record-Breaking Earnings This Quarter
Walt Disney Co.'s fiscal third quarter earnings were boosted by massive movie ticket and toy sales from 'Toy Story 5', which has crossed $1 billion in global box office receipts. The Burbank media and entertainment giant reported revenue of $25.2 billion for the three-month period that ended June 27, up 7% from the prior year.
Disney's entertainment division saw a lift from 'Toy Story 5', which opened in the final days of the quarter. This helped offset a theatrical stumble from Disney and Lucasfilm's 'Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu'.
The company's experiences division reported $9.97 billion in revenue, an increase of 10% compared to the prior year.
