Triple Major Lands Software Engineer Job at Microsoft After Discovering Passion in Cybersecurity
Marina Katoh, a triple major in computer science, cybersecurity, and mathematics from The University of Tulsa, graduated this spring and landed a job as a software engineer at Microsoft.
Katoh's academic journey was not what she initially planned. She had intended to attend medical school after graduation but discovered her passion for cybersecurity during an activities fair on campus.
Throughout her four years at UTulsa, Katoh balanced her triple major coursework with playing violin in the university's Symphony Orchestra, which provided stress relief during busy periods.
Katoh credits her professors and peers for their support and guidance. She notes that the environment at UTulsa fosters creative thinking and motivates students to pursue innovative ideas and apply to top companies.
