Tropical Americas to Bring New Attractions to Disney's Animal Kingdom in 2027

The Imagineering booth at this year's D23 Expo unveiled new details about Tropical Americas, an upcoming land at Disney's Animal Kingdom. The area will feature a hub called Pueblo Esperanza, which includes a community center and a large hacienda that will serve as one of the largest quick-service restaurants in Walt Disney World.

The hub also features a working carousel for kids to enjoy, crafted by a woodcarver who has repurposed a horse stable. The ride vehicles are designed to look like furniture from a home, complete with a piano and dresser.

Guests will be able to explore the rainforest further in the Encanto attraction, which features Audio-Animatronics figures that appear in one of the scenes. The attraction is expected to feature an Omnimover system, similar to Mystic Manor, but it has not been officially confirmed by Disney.

In addition to the Encanto attraction, Tropical Americas will also feature a new Indiana Jones Adventure, which replaces DINOSAUR and takes place in a Maya temple. The mythical creature featured in the adventure is expected to be the Kukulkan or Quetzalcoatl, both of which are feathered serpent gods.
