Trump Arrives at Doonbeg Golf Course Amidst Massive Security Operation
US President Donald Trump arrived at his golf course in Doonbeg, Ireland, on Saturday afternoon for the Amgen Irish Open. The visit came after a busy morning of engagements in Dublin, where he met with President Catherine Connolly and Taoiseach Micheal Martin.
A massive security operation descended upon the Co Clare links, with two huge Chinook helicopters flying overhead ahead of Trump's arrival. A helipad was constructed near the third tee to accommodate the President's helicopter.
Shane Lowry continued his third round at the tournament, with military helicopters flying above him. The Irish star had put himself in contention after a second-round 62 on Friday, setting a new course record and moving to 11-under-par.
Trump was also seen chatting with five-time major winner Brooks Koepka, who is competing in the DP World Tour tournament. When asked about returning for next year's Ryder Cup at Adare Manor, Trump replied, 'I will, absolutely. It's a big tournament.'
