Trump Demands US Oil Majors Cut Fuel Prices Amid Election Pressure

US President Donald Trump has urged major oil companies to lower fuel prices for consumers without delay. He made his appeal in a post on Truth Social, stating that the US oil industry would not be in its current position without his administration's policies.

Trump specifically called out Chevron CEO Mike Wirth for failing to acknowledge his administration's support for the oil and gas industry. He also referenced Chevron's return to operations in Venezuela after previously exiting the country.

The appeal comes as higher fuel prices, driven by the Iran war and rising cost of living, have become a political challenge for Trump ahead of the midterm elections in November.
