Trump Hails Bangladesh Boeing Deal as 'Excellent' Opportunity
US President Donald Trump has praised Bangladesh's decision to purchase Boeing aircraft, calling it an excellent deal. In a letter to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, Trump expressed his appreciation for the purchase and stated that he looked forward to meeting him in the not too distant future.
The aircraft deal is worth $3.7 billion and involves the supply of 14 Boeings to Biman between 2031 and 2035. Bangladesh's Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister M Rashiduzzaman Millat confirmed that the country was buying the aircraft from Boeing, citing Trump's request to use their planes.
Trump's envoy on South and Central Asia Affairs and US Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, also referred to the deal as an 'incredible' one. He stated that President Trump works tirelessly every day to create high-paying jobs, drive trillions of dollars in investment, and reinvigorate the economy.
The letter from Trump to Rahman expressed his confidence in the people of Bangladesh having a bright future under his leadership. He also extended warm regards and love to the people of Bangladesh, stating that they have been through much but will thrive under their prime minister's guidance.
