Trump Slams Chevron CEO Over Oil Price Hikes
Former US President Donald Trump took to Truth Social on Monday to slam Chevron CEO Mike Wirth, claiming that without his administration's 'genius, foresight, strength, and stability,' the oil industry would be dead.
Trump argued that Chevron's recent gains are a direct result of his presidency, pointing to the company's return to Venezuela as a benefit of his administration's strong-arm foreign policy. He claimed that Chevron is now set to make a 'fortune' as a result.
In an interview with Maria Bartiromo on Sunday Morning Futures, Wirth highlighted risks to oil transit routes and mentioned that demand remained 'pretty strong,' but the industry was facing expanding challenges.
Trump demanded immediate relief for everyday consumers, ordering major oil companies to drop retail fuel prices immediately. He stated, 'That goes for other Oil Companies as well...and get your consumer (retail!) Oil Prices down, now!'
