Trump Slams Oil Giants for Excessive Profits Amid Ongoing US-Iran Tensions

US President Donald Trump expressed frustration on Monday over the high profits reported by major oil companies Chevron and Exxon Mobil. The president stated that the companies 'made too much money' due to elevated oil prices, which have increased since he launched a war with Iran.

'They ought to give some of that back to the public, and they better cut the retail price,' Trump said.

The higher margins for these energy giants reflected increased energy prices following the effective closure of the Strait of Hormuz to oil and natural gas tankers. This move was a result of US military strikes against Iran, which have decimated Tehran's leadership and devastated its air force and navy.
