Trump Takes Aim at Exxon, Chevron Over War-Boosted Profits
US President Donald Trump criticized ExxonMobil Holdings Corp. and Chevron Corp. for their high profits, which he attributed to oil prices surging amid the war in Iran that he launched in February alongside Israel.
According to Bloomberg, Trump said the two companies are 'making too much money' and urged them to 'give some of that back to the public' by cutting retail gasoline prices.
The ExxonMobil Holdings Corp. Baytown refinery in Texas was mentioned as a specific example of the industry's profitability.
