Trump Taps Ex-JPMorgan Executive for Social Security Modernization Role
Former JPMorgan Chase executive Matt Zames has joined the Trump administration as an unpaid advisor to the Social Security Administration. Zames, who was chief operating officer at JPMorgan from 2012 to 2017, will work with Commissioner Frank Bisignano, also a former JPMorgan colleague, on modernizing the agency.
Zames's background in technology implementation and cost reduction could inform similar priorities at Social Security, which has faced scrutiny over outdated systems and service delivery. The appointment signals the administration's focus on bringing private-sector expertise into federal agencies.
As an unpaid advisor, Zames will not hold direct operational authority, but his established working relationship with Commissioner Bisignano may help streamline decision-making and accelerate reform initiatives.
