Trump Targets ExxonMobil and Chevron Over Excessive Oil Profits

US President Donald Trump has criticized oil companies ExxonMobil and Chevron for making 'too much money' from the current market disruption caused by the conflict in Iran. During a White House press briefing, Trump claimed that these gas corporations are profiting excessively from the high crude oil prices, which have reached $85 per barrel. He suggested that they should give some of their profits back to the public and cut retail prices.

Chevron and ExxonMobil posted record profits last week, with BP's reported profits also growing to $5.7 billion in the last quarter. Trump stated, 'They're making too much money based on a shortage. I don't like it.'

Trump has been requesting pricing breaks for these companies for several months and has taken to social media to express his discontent. He tweeted that gasoline retailers must lower their prices immediately, targeting around $2.50 per gallon.
