Trump Team Buys Big in Visa, Mastercard, Cintas
President Donald Trump's independent third-party money managers made approximately 21,000 trades on his behalf in 2025. In June of this year, they completed over 1,000 trades, with a total investment range of between $1 million and $5 million.
The purchases were primarily in Visa (NYSE: V), Mastercard (NYSE: MA), and Cintas (NASDAQ: CTAS). These companies have shown impressive returns since the financial crisis, with Visa and Mastercard returning 1,810% and 2,380%, respectively. Cintas has soared by over 85,000% since its initial public offering in August 1983.
Visa and Mastercard's success can be attributed to their dominant position as the United States' No. 1 and No. 2 payment processors. They have also avoided moving into lending, unlike some of their peers, which has allowed them to recover from recessions more quickly. Cintas, on the other hand, benefits directly from economic expansions, with a potential game-changer coming in the form of its acquisition of UniFirst for $5.5 billion.
