The IndyCar Freedom 250 Grand Prix is set to take place around Washington D.C. on Sunday, drawing major companies as new sponsors. The event was touted by President Donald Trump and marks a significant celebration of the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence.

New backers include Boeing, SpaceX's Starlink, and Delta Air Lines. Penske Corp is running the event, with chair Bud Denker commenting that it's an opportunity to grow their sport and showcase it to companies not previously involved.

Trump will wave the green flag at the start of the race and take a lap in the presidential limousine. Many senior executives and lawmakers are expected to attend, including Delta CEO Ed Bastian. The event has dozens of corporate sponsors, allowing for networking opportunities with administration officials and lawmakers.
