Trump Touts Boeing Deals as Bangladesh Questions Airport Upgrade
Aviation expert Kazi Wahid ul Alam from Bangladesh views US President Donald Trump as a salesman who tries to sell his products to other countries. When asked about the sale of Boeing aircraft to Bangladesh, he said that every country or head of state acts like a salesman when interacting with counterparts.
Alam believes that Trump considers Bangladesh a growing market for aviation and is advocating for selling more Boeing aircraft to the country, in addition to other products such as wheat. He sees this development positively but notes that the decision ultimately lies with the government.
The Bangladesh government has decided to upgrade Cox's Bazar airport to an international one, starting next March. However, Alam expressed caution, stating that the upgradation will hardly serve any purpose due to low traffic and cargo in the area.
