Trump's Golf Tournament Security Operation Underway in Ireland
The Amgen Irish Open golf tournament is set to take place at Trump International Doonbeg in County Clare from September 10-13, but security will be a major concern due to the high-profile visit of US President Donald Trump.
A huge security operation is underway, with up to 1,000 people in the presidential entourage, including 200 Secret Service officers. The N67 road will be closed to general traffic from September 11, and parking will be banned in Doonbeg village from September 8.
Residents within the affected area will need a Garda pass or proof of address to access their properties, while fans attending the tournament will have to use designated park-and-ride services. Sergeant Edel Burke warned that cars left along roads near Trump International Golf Links could be towed.
