The US stock market witnessed a significant surge on Monday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average rising by 636.50 points (1.21%) to settle at 53,121.53.

The Nasdaq Composite added 374.16 points (1.47%) to settle at 25,748.01, while the S&P 500 increased 78.16 points (1.04%) and closed at 7,567.63.

The improvement in market sentiment was largely attributed to President Donald Trump's announcement that the US would not launch any strikes against Iran, paving the way for more discussions.

This news led to a decline in crude oil prices, with West Texas Intermediate falling by over 7% and Brent crude dropping nearly 6%.
