TSMC's N3 Node Conundrum Leaves Room for Intel to Emerge
TSMC's N3 node wafer capacity is expected to remain tight for multiple years due to high demand from top AI chip designers, including Nvidia and Google.
Nvidia's next-generation Rubin GPUs will move from 4nm to 3nm, while Google's latest TPUs are already on TSMC's N3 node and expected to stay there.
As a result, Intel is betting on its 18A and 14A processes to win over AI customers. However, it remains to be seen if Intel can fill the gap left by TSMC's constraints.
