Tuscarawas County Public Library Offers Free Tech Classes This Fall

The Tuscarawas County Public Library System is offering free technology classes this fall to help residents build new skills. The library's main location in New Philadelphia and its Bolivar Branch will host a series of hands-on sessions from September through November, covering topics such as streaming services, Gmail, and Microsoft Office programs.

The workshops are designed for beginners and those looking to improve their technology knowledge. Leigh Burnham, the library's technology training coordinator, said: 'Our upcoming programs give people a chance to get hands-on with technology in a fun, beginner-friendly way.'

The fall schedule begins on September 15 with Free Streaming with Library Apps at 11 a.m., where attendees can learn about streaming services available through their library card. Other classes include Sublimation 101, Computer Basics, and Phone-focused sessions for iOS and Android.

In October, the library will offer Gmail Basics and Canva for the MakerSpace. The season concludes in November with introductory Microsoft Office programs, including Intro to Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Cutting the Cord is also scheduled, introducing streaming services and ways to connect them to a television.
