Typhoon Lagoon to Shut Down Indefinitely After Labor Day Weekend
The water park at Walt Disney World, Typhoon Lagoon, is closing indefinitely on September 9, 2026. The last operating day will be Tuesday, September 8. This closure marks the end of a rare summer period where both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach operated simultaneously.
Disney has not announced when Typhoon Lagoon will reopen, leaving fans uncertain about its future. The hiatus allows Imagineers to perform deep structural maintenance on aging infrastructure, filtration systems, and marquee slide complexes.
Guests have until September 8 to visit Typhoon Lagoon and experience fan-favorite attractions like the Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool, Miss Adventure Falls, Crush 'n' Gusher, and Castaway Creek. After that, Blizzard Beach will be the only operating water park at Walt Disney World.
