U.S. Stocks Close Lower Amid Sector Declines
U.S. stocks closed lower on Thursday, led by declines in the Consumer Services, Healthcare, and Industrials sectors.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 1.31%, while the S&P 500 index declined 0.86% and the NASDAQ Composite dropped 1.00%.
Travelers Companies rose to the top of the Dow with a 0.63% gain, followed closely by McDonald's Corporation and Walt Disney Company. However, Walmart Inc led the decline in the Dow with a 9.15% loss.
Nordson Corporation, Deere & Company, and CF Industries Holdings Inc topped the S&P 500 performers with gains of 7.96%, 6.94%, and 5.61% respectively.
