U.S. Stocks Plummet Amid Sector-Wide Declines
U.S. stocks closed lower on Tuesday due to losses in key sectors.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped by 1.17%, with Caterpillar Inc leading the gainers at 1.05% or 8.54 points to trade at 822.48.
Shares of Stryker Corporation fell to 52-week lows after losing 8.81% or 26.70 to 276.43, while Intel Corporation rose 9.05% to 104.47 and Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co was up 7.78% to settle at 56.05.
Among the worst performers were Amgen Inc, down 10.08%, and Home Depot Inc, which declined by 2.29%.
