U.S. Stocks Slide as Dow Hits One-Month Low Amid Sector-Wide Declines
U.S. stocks closed lower on Thursday, marking new lows for some sectors.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 0.60% to hit a one-month low, while the S&P 500 index fell 0.58% and the NASDAQ Composite lost 0.65%.
Among the top performers, Apple Inc rose 3.58% or $11.29 to trade at $326.63, Walt Disney Company added 1.57% or $1.64 to end at $105.82, and Verizon Communications Inc was up 0.46% or $0.23 to $49.97.
The worst performers included International Business Machines, which fell 2.47% or $5.92 to trade at $234.02, NVIDIA Corporation declined 2.26% or $5.06 to end at $218.36, and Amgen Inc was down 2.25% or $8.80 to $382.47.
