UA3926 Emergency Landing Cuts Short Newark Bound United Flight
On August 6, 2026, United Airlines Flight UA3926 departed from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) headed east towards Newark Liberty International Airport. However, less than an hour into the flight, the pilots transmitted a squawk 7700 code, indicating an in-flight emergency due to an 'unexpected operational issue'.
The Boeing 757-200 aircraft, registration N14106, was flying at its cruising altitude of 31,000 feet over Utah when the issue arose. The crew executed a U-turn and reversed course back towards Southern California.
The flight landed safely back at LAX after an hour and 47 minutes in the air. Passengers were deplaned and rebooked on alternate flights as the original flight was canceled.
