UCLA Student Dies in Accidental Fall While Interning at Amazon
A 21-year-old UCLA student died in an accidental fall while interning at Amazon in Seattle. Dayanara Nicole Urbina was working as a summer marketing intern for the tech giant and had planned to start her senior year at UCLA after completing her internship.
The incident occurred on July 30, when Urbina fell from an open window of a building onto the Burke-Gilman Trail below. The King County Medical Examiner's Office ruled the manner of death as accidental due to blunt force injuries.
Urbina's sorority, Phi Lambda Rho, described her as 'a bright light, a gentle soul' who was known for her kindness and compassion. Her mother has expressed concerns that witnesses may have given inconsistent accounts of the incident, and is urging the Seattle Police Department to investigate further.
