UF Teams Up with Google to Revolutionize Diabetes Treatment with AI

The University of Florida has partnered with Google to expand its program focused on using artificial intelligence (AI) to diagnose and treat diabetes patients.

This new partnership will provide funding to educate primary care doctors on how to better identify and manage diabetes, as well as develop a special glucose monitoring device that uses AI to detect potential problems.

The technology aims to help determine which patients are at risk of developing Type 1 diabetes by analyzing family history and blood glucose records.

Dr. Michael Haller, an endocrinologist at UF, is helping lead the program and hopes that if successful, it could be expanded across the country in the future.
