UK Cracks Down on Child Access to Nude Images on Apple and Google Devices

The UK government has announced plans to force technology companies like Apple and Google to block nude images on children's devices. Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy told the House of Commons that legislation will be introduced 'as soon as we can,' but did not provide a specific timeline. The government had given Apple and Alphabet-owned Google a three-month deadline in June to introduce such measures voluntarily, but neither company has comprehensively blocked the taking or sending of nude selfies.

Nandy stated that the government would require technology companies to stop children from taking, sharing, or viewing nude images on their phones and tablets. This move aims to protect young users from accessing explicit content online.
