UK Expands Global Talent Visa Route for Research Businesses
The UK Government has expanded the Global Talent visa route to allow more businesses to recruit researchers from overseas. Over 100 companies, including AstraZeneca and IBM, can now access this route, which was previously limited to universities and research institutions.
The change applies specifically to people in research roles and focuses on fields identified as strategically important to the UK economy, such as nuclear security technologies and quantum technology.
Jonathan Reynolds, Business Secretary, said, 'We're making it easier than ever for our most innovative companies to recruit eligible researchers who will develop the medicines, technologies and industries of the future right here in the UK.'
