UK Expands Global Talent Visa Scheme to Include Research-Driven Companies
Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), owned by Tata Motors, has been added to a list of over 100 research-driven companies that can support applications under the UK's Global Talent visa scheme.
The expanded fast-track route aims to attract exceptional scientists and engineers from around the world, including India, to work on funded projects in Britain.
UK Secretary of State for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade Jonathan Reynolds said, 'By expanding the Global Talent visa to more than 100 businesses, we are making it easier than ever for our most innovative companies to recruit eligible researchers who will develop the medicines, technologies and industries of the future right here in the UK.'
More than 700 Global Talent visas have been granted since its launch in 2022, with Indians being among the top three nationalities using the route.
