UK to Block Nude Images on Kids' Devices via Apple, Google

The UK government has announced plans to introduce legislation requiring tech companies like Apple and Google to block children from taking, sharing, or viewing nude images on their devices.

Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy told the House of Commons that the government would introduce the law 'as soon as we can', but did not provide a specific timetable.

The current rules mostly apply to services and platforms rather than devices, and pushing Apple and Google to introduce stronger, proactive nudity detection at the device level is a significant expansion intended to stop children from creating and sharing intimate images of themselves online.
