Unified Microsoft Copilot Rolls Out Globally This Fall
Microsoft is simplifying its AI offerings by merging its consumer Copilot and productivity Copilot experiences into one app. The new unified Copilot experience begins rolling out today, with a worldwide rollout expected to start in mid-September for Windows and macOS.
The company confirmed that it was working on a Copilot super app that would merge the different user experiences under one app. As of today, users will see changes to the Copilot app, including updated appearance and functionality, such as navigation and feature availability.
Some features are being retired with the unification, including Group Chat, which will no longer be accessible after August 18, 2026. The Podcasts feature is also being fully retired on this date, while Deep Research is being retired for consumer users starting in mid-September.
