Unilever Steals Share from P&G in Pakistan
Unilever Pakistan, one of the country's largest FMCG companies, is capitalizing on Procter & Gamble (P&G) vacating its market share in Pakistan. The company claims to be ahead of internal targets in capturing the space left behind by P&G after it exited the South Asian country last year.
Ammad Danish, Unilever's Head of Home Care, believes that international competition brings 'fair play' to a market, unlike local players who often don't follow rules. He noted that multiple organized players are competing for the share, and not just Unilever alone.
Unilever's Home Care division has been undergoing a turnaround, with a restructuring into four focused business units and a shift in philosophy putting the consumer at the heart of its operations. This approach led to new product launches, including Surf Excel Whites and Surf Excel Liquid, which strengthened the brand's position.
