United Airlines Expands Asia Routes from San Francisco Hub
United Airlines will launch 11 nonstop routes from its San Francisco hub to Asia next summer, including new services to Okinawa and Sapporo. The carrier's long-haul route network will see significant expansion in 2027, with flights to several Asian destinations increasing to daily frequencies.
The new route to Okinawa, Japan, will be United's sixth destination in the country and its first nonstop service from San Francisco. The Boeing 777-200ER will operate three times a week on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, with flights departing at 10:35 AM and returning the next day at 12:50 PM.
Patrick Quayle, United's Senior Vice President of Global Network Planning & Alliances, commented on the carrier's growth, saying that it has added flights to nearly 60 new international cities in the last decade. The airline will also operate daily nonstop services to several other Asian destinations from San Francisco next summer.
