United Airlines Secures $390 Million Financing for New Aircraft Fleet
United Airlines has secured financing worth $390 million for four Airbus A321neo and five Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. The British multinational bank Standard Chartered acted as the lead arranger and initial lender for the transaction.
The financing will support United's ongoing fleet optimization and fuel efficiency strategy, according to a statement from Standard Chartered. This is not the first time the two companies have worked together on an aircraft financing deal - in 2025 they arranged financing for five Airbus A321neo jets.
Standard Chartered's Global Head of Transportation Finance, Abhishek Pandey, said that this transaction reflects the continued growth of their aviation finance business and demonstrates their ability to support strategic clients by leveraging their global network and distribution capabilities.
