United Airlines Unveils 'Stars and Stripes' Livery for America's 250th Anniversary

United Airlines has unveiled a special 'Stars and Stripes' livery on two of its aircraft to mark America's 250th anniversary. The Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner and a Boeing 737-800 were painted in a deep blue fuselage with 50 white stars and diagonal red-and-white stripes, making them look like a flying flag.

The unveiling took place at Washington Dulles International Airport on June 15, 2026, attended by US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy and United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby. The livery is not only a patriotic tribute but also tied to the airline's Military Pilot Program, which gives active-duty US military aviators a conditional job offer with the airline.

Since 2024, nearly 600 military pilots have moved to United through this program, and another 500 are expected by the end of 2027. The carrier now employs over 18,000 pilots, with more than 4,500 being veterans.
