A planned flyover by United Airlines featuring a Boeing 777 escorted by four fighter jets was canceled due to concerns in the community. The event, intended to honor the victims of Sept. 11, 2001, had been scheduled for 9:03 a.m., the exact time hijackers crashed United Flight 175 into the South Tower of the World Trade Center.

The flyover was part of events planned by United to commemorate the anniversary of the terrorist attacks. The airline had also prepared an aircraft monument made from World Trade Center steel honoring crew members aboard Flights 175 and 93, which will still be unveiled despite the cancellation.
