United Airlines flight UA119 from Edinburgh to Chicago was diverted to Green Bay due to severe weather, causing a series of delays for passengers. On July 27th, the Boeing 757-200 aircraft landed in Green Bay at around 2:00 PM local time, but was unable to take off again immediately due to stormy conditions.

The crew timed out on their duty limit while taxiing towards takeoff, forcing them back to the tarmac. Passengers were then left waiting outside on the tarmac for roughly five hours as there were no US Customs and Border Protection officers available to process them.

A spokesperson for United confirmed that the CBP office in Green Bay was not open at the time, despite it being a weekday business hour. The flight eventually took off from Green Bay around 10:19 PM and landed safely in Chicago at 10:55 PM.
