United's Polaris Suites Get Privacy Upgrade with Closable Doors
United Airlines has upgraded its Polaris suites on some Boeing 787-9 aircraft in international business class, adding a crucial feature for travelers seeking extra privacy.
The sliding doors that separate each suite can now be closed, thanks to FAA certification granted earlier this month. This upgrade was pending since the Dreamliners were introduced with new Elevated interiors earlier this year.
United currently operates these aircraft on several routes, including between San Francisco and Singapore, London, Seoul, Zurich, Houston, and Sydney.
The airline plans to offer similar doors in its upcoming Airbus A321XLR, but has yet to announce when they will enter service. By 2027, United expects to have at least 30 Boeing 787s with Elevated interiors.
