US Approves Massive Defense Sales to Saudi Arabia
The US State Department has approved a potential $5 billion sale of Joint Direct Attack Munitions-Extended Range to Saudi Arabia, marking another major expansion of US defense sales to the kingdom. Boeing will serve as the principal contractor for the proposed sale.
In addition to the munitions deal, Washington also greenlit a potential $750 million sale of AGT-1500 engines to Riyadh, with Honeywell as the principal contractor. The approvals represent major developments in US-Saudi defense cooperation.
